Once enrolled, participants are given an authorization card that includes their name, substitute address, and an individual participant. On June 4, 2012, the program began assisting individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual offenses and stalking. ACP is designed to be a part of an overall safety plan for victims who are planning to move or have recently moved to a location unknown to the perpetrator. Arizona was the 27th state to create a confidential address program. This project is supported by the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) through the Office of Criminal Justice Services and the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) through the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. The Arizona legislature established the Address Confidentiality Program within the Office of the Secretary of State. It is a court advocacy program staffed by trained Victim Advocates who provide services and referrals to victims of misdemeanor crimes in the Butler County Area Courts.
